I no political science student. Is this make cents? There r 24000 new citizens back in 2024. The lighting improve votes of 5 % from last GE. This new citizens r the guarantee 10 % wins.

In news. Overseas vote. Opp secure high % of confirmation. A sigh of voters not FEAR the lighting include non born local citizens. Eg Malaysian & PRCs. I predict WP will secure 48 % powers in 15 yrs.

I wish WP will be fair and keep their promises to Singaporean. Powers corrupt a person.

Unfortunately a feeling of fear and suspicion still occupied the thoughts of some people not just new citizen but OG citizen too. Had friend who said they worry about voting for opposition in their area because the children are applytfor government scholarship .......really pengzzz

Looks like many Singaporean voters cannot shake off the fear from 1960s. This means voters voted for PAP because of intangibles like fear and not because PAP candidates were better or PAP policies make sense. Then how come voters from Hougang, Sengkang and Aljunied did not get the fear sickness?

Well, how many people have kids apply for govt scholarship? The number is negligible. Just bringing this up as an example.

I guess we also need to factor in people aiming for fast career rise in civil service or applying for civil service jobs, better to err on the side of caution and they know which side of their bread is buttered, won't bite the hand that feeds them

Nevertheless, all the above are still a minority and yes they exist too in hougang sengkang aljunied.

Big Picture Question is would voters want and trust to vote in scholars or have appointed scholars as Govt Leaders who self-censor, have fear hallucinations, easily cowed and joined PAP for self-rise reasons rather than serving for the good of Singapore. Your entire narrative about applying scholarship is about own selfish reasons and me, me, me reasons. It is time to reform the scholarship system. Majority of scholars could not succeed in private sector.

60 yrs. Malaysian Chinese after voting chop passports and return to home town. They cursed the party they voted, they also disappointed they live in FEAR of the Lighting. A reason being they wish to bring in Malaysian, they need to earn $ by renting rooms.

This year it gets worst. They afraid PRC leave Singapore, they workship PRC because PRC told them. Dont forget your China roots. By the way PRC winds blew into Malaysia. Eg PRC lousy cheap reno contractors.
