Even with IOU and IC, there's nothing the lender can do if you don't pay. He would have to waste few thousand dollars on a lawyer to send letters to you to try to get his money back, and if you file for bankruptcy, there's nothing else he can do.

There is no need to file for bankruptcy. The court will not do anything over a personal loan. The most the victim can do is to seek help from small claims tribunal or some debt recovering agency. Individuals loans are very hard to recover. Even the debt agency go knocking on the door everyday, the gal insist on not paying, they also lan lan. In the end, all the time spent will be wasted.

Oh yah ... I forgot about something .... in the first place the debt agreement got no legal stamp on it ..... I don't even think debt agency will want to help you.
