New hobbies is a bit too suspicious from my experience...
Thankfully have been a long time practice for me to go out catch football games. If you talk to your wife on tele, and video message is your source of 'truth', you can prerecord to your saved message first, and forward it to her. This will look like you are doing whatever you want her to think you're doing in real time.
