What I learned is that Batam is unpredictable. Impossible to make a plan.
One week ago they told me Newton open till 6am, and they closed at 2am. But PAcific was open at the same time, so we moved.
Another time they told me Pacific closed, but I found it open till 6am.
I think they do what they can unless forced by police.
PS: BTW, it always puzzles me seeing how efficient is the police in enforcing closure of KTVs, pubs, and discos during ramadan, including raids, etc, to enforce public "morality", while they do not care about the kilograms of extasy that is sold freely in discos.
Is extasy not against public morality?
