You are lucky u found out in time and the hookers gave it back to you. Happened to me twice when I was staying in Bangkok.
Reason very simple - in Spore the ATM card comes out first before your cash. In Thailand its the other way around. Being creatures of habit we see the cash, take it and leave without realizing your card is still inside. Happens when u r in a hurry or not concentrating.
