Babe 18
Learning from our past mistake, we(me and another bro) decided to pay for cover charge and make our way down to Babe 18 at around midnight. To our horror, the queue is super duper long! We queued for about 30 minutes before we get to go into the club. We usually speak to each other in English, hence raising all the tai meis eyebrows as it gives them an impression like we are ABC
We went on a Thursday, it was a ladies night if I recall correctly. Cover charge was NTD700 for free flow of drinks. But the queue to get the drinks was horrible. Area wise, its waaaaaaaaaaaaay smaller compare to Club Myst.
The crowd was pretty young, about the range of early 20s. I notice that some girls will just stand at a corner, playing their phone waiting for someone to talk to them. Maybe my expectation was a bit too high, IMO those that waiting to be pick up are not really up to my standard >_<
There was a lot of foreigners in that particular nights. My friend manage to chat up with a few chicks, all of them are Hongkies. Somehow, the first word that come out from their mouth is 'wo bu shi tai wan ren, wo shi HK lai de'. Of course, my friend knows canto hence he start to converse to them in canto. However, the Hongkie start to speak in English trying to 'shoo' my friend away thinking that he is from China. What surprises her was that our English is far better than hers.
She was stunt, and couldn't keep up with the conversation in English, replying with short answers only. What we think was that this Hongkie was trying to act atas by speaking English but her plan was backfire. Soon after her friend came and they went off. What's more worse was that we chatted up with a couple more of Hongkies and the same thing happen again.
It was a pretty bad night, though we did saw a group of SYTs with their friends. No action from either one of us other than chatting up with a few Hongkies. Another boring night but oh well, it was all in the name for experiencing clubbing in Taiwan.
