Concurred with you. Johor bahru city area (bandaraya) has lost its charm as a sex entertainment place as it is getting more unaffordable to spend there. The charges by those JB KTV (e.g. taman sentosa) could be even more expensive than in singapore KTV. JB is getting more modernised like in singapore.

The demand for such entertainment in JB by mostly sporean is always there regardless of how costly the KTV charged. That is why bro Rub&Buah mentioned about the supply and demand factor.
As long as every day the strong demand is still there, the price will keep on going up. Therefore it is really not worth going to JB KTV anymore.
However those days in the 80s and 90s there used to be a trend where many papaya farm (bars/music lounge) opened in JB taman sentosa and pelangi areas. Bar hostess will sit with you the whole night just tip them rm20 = S$8 will do. Another group of girls will come to your room to do "show". Allow you to fine tune radio and roam papaya but need to give rm10 to each girl you roam. And one night spend in these joints cost you the most rm200 = S$80 inclusive of beers, food, tips and room. If you want to do ST with the bargirl, then need to go nearby hotel at rm130=S$54. All these farms are totally wipe out in late 90s.
Now the only places in JB which is worth visiting are the hotel health centres like Bluewave hotel (most popular with sporean as it is within walking distance from custom) Newyork hotel, Lion City hotel, Hotel Paragon, etc.
All these hotel HC have SYT package young and pretty girls at about rm218=
S$90 only inclusive of fj, massage, unlimited food and beverages, steambath, sauna, movie theatre, etc.
But if one was to visit singapore health centre in general will cost him S$60massage + $150fj =
S$210
Therefore there will be a saving of
about S$120 if you visit JB health centre rather than singpore health centre for fj with massage.
But it is difficult to find LT in JB unlike in Batam.
But no matter how cheap JB may be, still cannot be cheaper than Indobonk land - Batam !
