I am in agreement to this segment of your post. I myself do this especially if it is my 1st session with the WL. But it all depends you see. When I sense that she is passive, I no need request, I just let it play naturally and if she allows me, RTF sessions go smoothly, she already knows my pattern. But if I sense the WL got attitude, I make it a point to make things clear so I know where I stand. If she does not allow my request, respect it and say to her politely that it's alright.
