personally I find batam safer than JB...., if you dare walk around JB you shouldn't be afraid to walk around in Batam...of cos we still need to be careful at all times....
staying at Planet Holiday, Harmoni, Panorama, Novotel, etc...are among the better hotels by Batam standard...
many food courts have quite decent and quality seafood and reasonable price.....nearest probably the Pacific food court...stall number 999 food is good...as well at the food court the last stall has BBQ seafood is also good....
outside taxi fare :
1 ) from harbour bay to the above 4 hotels is quite standard rp40k to rp50k
2 ) hotel to pacific food court about rp30k to rp40k
3 ) hotel to Nagoya Hill shopping mall - about rp30k to rp50k
4 ) Harbour Bay mall shopping - if you are staying at Novotel probably just walk there maybe 5 min...can see from the hotel...if from the other 3 hotels...maybe rp20k to rp30k
