Opportunities to enjoy delicious new dishes from Saigontourist.

Selected hotels, resorts and restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, which are subsidiaries of Saigontourist Holding Company, have launched exciting new menus, with some also offering special promotions.

Dong Khanh Hotel, located at 02 Tran Hung Dao B Street in District 5, has introduced a “Singapore Buffet” special.

30 dishes are on offer, including spring rolls, pancakes, chicken rice, frog rice porridge, and fresh mushroom hot pot.

The buffet is served daily between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. until September 1.

Tickets are VND139,000 (US$8.40) per adult and VND99,000 ($6) per child.

Those who buy 10 tickets get one free.

The “Pure Vietnamese Vegetarian Buffet 2008” from Tan Cang Tourist Park, at A100 Ung Van Khiem Street, Binh Thanh District, offers more than 60 vegetarian dishes from Vietnam’s three regions.

The meat-free meals range from tofu in tomato sauce through to jackfruit salad and straw mushrooms fried with crispy green rice cakes.

The buffet, which is served from 5 p.m. between August 15 and 17, is also accompanied by demonstrations of vegetable and fruit carving.

Ticket prices are VND120,000 ($7.30) for adults and VND70,000 ($4.20) for children.

The Dam Sen Floating Restaurant, at 03 Hoa Binh Street, District 11, has recently started to serve chicken rice from 10 a.m-9 p.m. every day.

A dish of Dam Sen-style chicken rice consists of a piece of steamed chicken served with rice, salad, cucumber slices and pickled carrot.

It can be accompanied by either an onion and ginger sauce or soy sauce mixed with sugar and chili.
