Good advice.
But sometimes for a new chap, it is quite difficult to tell the difference.
Most of the pirate taxi in fact have meters, and they purposely put a sign on top showing the word "meter".
But their meters jump faster than my heartbeat.
Also, they try to confuse customers that they are the real deal.
Like Taxi VinaSun (which is a good taxi company), their tel number is 8-27-27-27. Some pirate taxi has the tel number 8-277-277 or 8-27-77-27.
So always look for the company name, like Comfort, Vina Taxi, VinaSun, Mai Linh etc.
If you flag down a taxi and realise its a pirate taxi, don't feel bad or shy to wave him off.
