In Singapore go to AA bro....TP is only for foreign driving license holder to convert to Singaporean driving license.......
You cannot do a IDP in BKK as
IDPs are not valid in the country of issue......alternatively you can convert to a Thai licence but it is a hassle as you must go to their Thai Land Transport department offices with cert for medical test, interpreter etc etc......& take the written test.
A little known fact is that western tourists like those from US, Aussie or Europe dun need a IDP to rent cars & even the traffic police accept that is perfectly legal......hope all these info helps
