Those things you mentioned, mainly influence more intellectual and and highly educated China women, who are less likely to appear in Geylang. Those WLs in Geylang, they might be influenced by C-Dramas or online novels, these dramas/novels might be indirectly influenced by China intellectual traditions to a certain extent. So when those things reach them, it is already 皮毛. In my years of going to Geylang, I have never met a WLs who have completed the whole volume of 红楼梦. In fact, most China university graduates didn't complete the whole book. But with this 皮毛, WLs might already be more advanced than average Singapore women in dealing with men.
