Re: Tracking App… OC wants to install on my phone
Just checked on Chatgpt and there are many known risks to using Life360. Just the top three risks include unauthorised sale of data by the company to marketers and private firms, lack of anonymisation due to weak API (so people can find out who you are and where you live etc) and hacking could lead to identity theft, stalking or targeted phishing attacks.
Suggest you do the same search on Chatgpt and then show her how dangerous it is. Better to get your daughter an AirTag and then monitor that way.
BTW funny story: my friend in Australia was forced to put Life360 on his phone. One night he went out drinking with friends and then he gets a call from his wife. She asks him where he is... he said "I'm at the pub" and then names a pub that she knows that is near his office in the CBD. She said: "No you're not. I can see from Life360 that you're at the Men's Gallery" which is a popular strip joint... wah he was so fucked for the next month or so...
For me, I have a "play phone" that I keep at my office. That's cos I never do any funny business on the weekends or even weekday nights. It's all done between 9am to 5pm as I'm fortunate to have a job where I can come and go as I pretty much please.
