Thus I’m wondering if filing for separation first and after kid graduates from uni then I file for divorce. - can. have you discussed this with your spouse? if both agree, can backdate separation when filing for divorce. of course you should not trust a woman's agreement for long. can always file for separation first then decide later.
If I file for separation, hdb will not require the hdb to be sold right? Only when divorce? - if both party agrees not to sell it after divorce. share of HDB will be split but it can also remain unsold but depending on court judgement and HDB. because HDB doesnt allow anyone who is not eligible to continue holding a hdb upon divorce (if 35 and above, can hold as single).

Hi. Thanks so much for the advices.
I’m already sleeping in separate room.
I will not contest for the hdb since I want my daughter to have a roof over her head. Plan is to get back my cpf contribution for the hdb.
If both agree on filing for separation, do I look for a lawyer to kickstart the process?
Thanks.
