From the look of the tour bus at the entrance, i probably guess its going to be another not easy to book hotel and soon to be robotic-customer-orientated place. Just like what i see in Da Vienna hotel where when i ask for a extra towel, they took about 2.5 hours to be sent to me,hehehe...of course, i am not saying that is not good or bad. Just that my expectation is higher when it comes to picking my-kind-of-hotel.
Just look at how close this Parkside hotel is from Grand Batam Mall,hehehe...practically just a stone throw away.
My impression for this hotel, a little overly-priced. I will observe further in the near future when the peak season is over.

The noodle shops has been around for quite a while, its just that whenever i am there, i target the charsiew siok ba store 1st,hehehe...hence easily bypass the 2 noodle shops.
2 worthy mention would be the Bak Kut Teh store and Goreng Pisang store. Among all the Shuang Hong Bak Kut Teh stores i tried in Batam, the Astro food court one is the BEST,hehehe...
Have you tried the Carrot cake at the coffee shop behind Gideon Hotel?
They have carrot fried in duck egg,hehehe...interesting huh? Gonna try ordering from Grab food one of these mornings as they opens 630am and closes at 1pm (batam time). Duck egg version not available online tho.
Behind this coffee shop that sells fried carrot is another Mickey Mouse Bat Kut Teh.

I like the storyline of this movie, Joker (i watch it in Batam twice). And the lead actor actually brings out the key characteristic of the story VERY well. But when watching this movie, small details were often missed out, eg the switch of right hand and left hand when joker starts swapping between going Psycho and becoming Normal.
This movie shows 2 sides of characteristic in one single human being, "self-control" versus "releasing one's inner-self". After watching the movie,i begin to look at self on the internet and self behind the computer. I look at self in Batam and self in Singapore (
note here i didnt use the word "myself" but use "self" instead).
Gosh! No wonder i would often say Singapore is Hell (to me) and Batam is heaven,and no wonder China banned this movie,hehehe...
