A hilarious event i encountered in a batam hotel K-Mart 2 nights ago...a group of about 5 foreign guests of the hotel buying cigarettes ,only 2 of them were buying,but becos of some small change loose change of 200 rupiah to 500 rupiah. The queue turn out to be rather lengthy,hehehe....
Friend A buy cigarette from K-mart,cost per pack is 23200,...friend A only has 23000,so he is short of 200 rupiah,so he ask friend B if he has 200 rupiah to spare,friend B chekced his stacks of rupiah notes in 1k to 2k rupiah but he doesn't have,so he ask friend C,friend C also check his stacks of rupiah and also do not have too.So he use his handphone to call friend D,friend D arrive and checks his own stacks,but eventually couldnt find any...so they decide to buy 2 packs of cigarette instead ,but they didnt know which brand of the 2nd pack of cigarette to buy,2 of them eventually walked INSIDE the sales counter to choose and at this point of time,there were already 6 to 7 other people in the queue (behind me). They still couldnt decide after some time and the guy,a Chinese man behind the group of 5 got impatient and decide to ask the K-mart staffs to do his transaction 1st...and it only took less than 10 secs. Eventually,friend E of the group arrived and also walked in with some indonesian coins to make the balance payment for the 2 packs of cigarettes.
By the time it was my turn to pay,its already 5 over mins later,i am lucky,i was just behind the Chinese man. Poor guys in queue behind me were still que-ing....hehehe....my transaction total was 28200 rupiah,i paid the K-Mart staff 30k rupiah and ask him to keep the change in English and off i head back to my room smiling at the counter staff.
(hopefully nothing was stolen from K-Mart tho)
I learned a lesson in this event, i believe why booking joint girls and massage girls didnt like a certain group of customers.
