Pardon for posting here, I'm planning my maiden trip to Hanoi for later this year.

Wanted to ask if anyone had any recommendations and advice for a solo cheongster in Hanoi, especially when I don't speak or understand Vietnamese? I'm planning on staying in an AirBnB rental around Old Quarter/French Quarter, as I heard many hotels have a 'taboo' against bringing an "overnight gal" back to your room?

Also wanted to confirm, Hanoi has only KTV, massage and pubs/bars for nightlife? I.e. no go-go bars or fishbowls like in BKK?

Any advice that experienced Samsters can share here would be welcome as I'm unable to find much info about Hanoi. Ho Chi Minh yes, Hanoi no.
