Definitely. One thing I learned about Batam is that it is unpredictable. I never know what will happen at night. A major failure and disappointment or a fantastic dream experience, anything could be behind the corner. But that's the fascination of Batam, in my opinion.
Therefore, after my first visits to Batam, years ago when I used to stop for just 3 days after some days in Singapore, now I do my best to stay as longer as I can in Batam: one week usually, just transiting in Singapore from KL.
Anything is cheaper in Batam than in Singapore: hotel, seafood, and of course entertainment. I guess that nowadays a Viet girl in Ipanema may ask not less than 250+ SGD for 1 hour at hotel. With that money, my mileage in Batam is way longer.
Staying one week in Batam usually allows me to
make many mistakes and have some failures, still
having the time to hit the jackpots too. In statistical terms: a longer time means more experiments, that is more positive and negative results. I tend to forget the failures and keep the memory of the outstanding experiences, so at the end I am always enthusiast.
A 2D1N trip is at risk: like tossing a coin and hoping for the good result. It could be good, it could be bad. Accept whatever comes, and enjoy your night.
About hunting pubs and discos, experience and strategic behaviour can only improve the probability of success, but one must be always prepared to the event to go back sleeping alone.
It also happened to me to be pessimistic and with nothing in hand at 3am, and then hit a jackpot at 4am.
What is important is to not overweight failures (and fall prey of depression) and successes (and become way too proud of yourself). Every day is different, every day the destiny has something new for us.

My advice is to read my long reports of the past. Not because they are a guide on what to do (it may be not advisable for anyone), but because they offer a survey on what's possible (but not on everything possible).
Best disco for hunting: first Newton (but be careful to not be a small fish and fall prey of the sharks), then Pacific and Planet 3.
Best pub: NoName! Best live band, better than other bands I heard (M1, Last Pub, etc.)
Pubs in Kampung Bule? I don't recommend any except the above, unless in a week of stay in Batam one gets bored of others and wants to do something different.
Hunting girls in NoName? Beware of ultraprofessional bar girls, who leave their workplace after 1am or 2am and move there to look for customers. (well, beware or not, just be aware of who you are talking to). Plenty of regular girls looking for adventure in the weekends, and also many girls who are used to go there seeking fun & money but once in a time (1 million or more is always useful for a lady with an office work, many expenses, and the wish to have fun).
Dangers at night? Many or few, but be always on alert of possible scammers. The probability is small, but when it happens it's painful (some horror stories were reported also here).
I mean: if you meet a girl in Newton, most likely she's a sweet good girl with just some need of money, but you better keep your defense high, because if she's not a good girl, she will easily identify the weak guy, plunge on the easy prey and neglect the hard target.
