Maybe i can explain since i am now facing what bro PigletDidi is saying.
Imagine,you are staying on the 11th floor,your friend stayed on 5th floor. You room card key can bring you only to 11th floor and to get to the 5th floor,your only option is...the stairs, if you need to get to the 5th floor. Vice versa for your friend on the 5th floor if he wish to go to your room on the 11th floor to tcss with you.
Your room key card only brings you to the floor (when in the lift elevator)you are staying in.

The receptionist will usually call me up to see if i have any "girlfriends" coming up,hehehe...just like what happen to me yesterday. I tell the receptionist to let "them" up.
However i must agree that it can be quite a turn off if i am in the bath room or sleeping.

This is actually good in a way so no "tom dick and harry" can anyhow come to your level. Its just not good for friends who wish to go to your room if your friend/s arent staying floor with you. I have been walking so much of Biz Hotel stairs in the last few days (i am lucky that i only walk down but my friends have to walk upward),hehehe... (you can call it good exercise..lol)
By the way,today 11am rate was 9640/SGD.
