You didnt have many expectations tho,but you do have very very high expectation when you make a comparison between Jakarta over Batam (and later Sillypore too) and with hotels with everything under one roof?

Try reading my Beginner's Guide for 1st Time Batam Visitor again and then look at which hotel you stayed in versus what i wrote.

I must agree,Jakarta should be better,but from a personal point of view,there are still things that Jakarta cant beat Batam on. And in Batam,i really really try my very best to avoid girls from Jakarta ,even if it means cheaper pricing.

I have already stated what went not-right in your trip's FR, take it with a pinch of salt as i may not always be right. Read all the above links and if anything you are not sure of,do feel free to ask. i am not expecting anyone to read the links once/twice and then understand them.

Just remember,my guides are mainly written when i am still a super newbie to Batam during beginning of 2014 and with the mentality almost similar with yours.

My golden rules for myself travelling to Batam :

1. Be humble,be nice,be well-mannered,be firm and not talk loudly. In short,dont have those "i have the money and i can drown you with my money" kind of attitude.

2. I try to remember to drop my expectation by half when i visit Batam

3. Use at least 1 hour to read the last 20 pages of the Batam Info thread for the most updated information.

4. Always get the Basic right 1st ,and know my position in the area where i am.

Lastly,may you have a successful good trip to Batam the next time round.
