Another major project for Batam
Formosa Hotel and Residences
Five star hotel, luxury apartments and five floors of parking
YET another major development project has been announced for Batam.
The Formosa Hotel and Residences project provides for one tower of 30 floors and a second of 23 floors and will be built as two stages on the 1.7 hectare site of the existing Formosa Hotel between the Lucky Plaza and Centrepoint shopping complexes in the heart of the Nagoya Central Business District.
The first tower will provide 400 under-croft car parking spaces occupying most of the first five levels, 300 apartments (one and two-bedroom) and around 150 hotel rooms. The five-star hotel will occupy the top five floors of the building.
The developers have established a sales office with display apartments and commenced marketing the first stage. Demolition of the rear section of the Formosa Hotel complex has commenced to make way for the beginning of construction. The developers expect Stage 1 will take three years from commencement to complete.
This project marks the beginning of a transformation in this area with other projects planned nearby.
