First pic, that area near top car park is well lit, and there are always people around even till alte.

Second pic, that area is very spooky at night. Remember what took place there, which is very near to Bukit Chandu during WW2? Yes, annihilation of Malay Regiment, and also many Japanese met their violent end on the slopes of that particular part of Kent Ridge.
