I wrote the beginner's guide (if only one understand how much time it takes to do that) in hope nobody has to reach that situation,but well...at times there will be some who'll happily and willingly listen to the alternatives,or simply told not to follow it and/or the advise taken/given isnt complete (eg,advise given by taxi drivers in Batam). Life itself is a choice,if i make a wrong one,i pay the price...my last one in Batam cost 308k when the Arrival custom officer stole my return ticket. I usually dont leave my ticket inside Passport,but well....it just happen on that day...lol.

I learned my lesson.

My preference is ,Formosa is still a better choice for 1st time/new Batam visitor/s where at least 2 booking joints were at visible distance from Hotel main entrance,hehehe...

When you change your Sin money with money changer,you will most likely be given 50k or 100k notes. Denominations of 1k,2k,5k,10k,20k can be changed back to you if you buy things from stores. Taxi drivers will sometime tell you they have no change if you give them a 50k for a 30k cab fare,fyi.
