"Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra intends to send a clear message to provincial governors and police chiefs that his government will curb businesses that it regards as detrimental to society, The Nation reports.
"I will summon them to a meeting and let them know that anyone negligent about shady businesses in their areas will be transferred," Thaksin said at "Prime Minister Meets the Press" on Thursday of last week.
He said any transfer order would take effect within 24 hours.
The premier was apparently referring to a recent decision by a police committee that allowed the Elina massage parlour to open near Triam Udom Suksa Pattanakarn Ratchadapisek campus."
