Vietnam: Do Son and Quat Lam- need information
 

Heard these places in Vietnam are good for cheonging.
Both places are about 2 hrs from Hanoi and are beach resort towns.

Had plan to visit but having difficult time finding information to plan a trip.:confused:
Not much on Google. Very limited info on travel information and hotel options (list of hotels and prices).
Agoda had several hotels listed but many not really in Do Son and nothing for Quat Lam.

Anyone bros been to these places and can share info so I could plan ahead for a trip and report back with what I find.
Also any links and relevant information will be helpful.

Do Son is at Hai Phong city and Quat Lam is at Nam Dinh...both resorts best visit from March to July before the typhoons season...:)

Do Son resort has 1 of the 4 fully operated casinos recognised in Vietnam...:)

First I dun think many had visited Hai Phong which will have the 5 VSIP coming up....:)

Quat Lam is more public beach at Nam Dinh province...and have not much info other than those available in internet...^^

I am planning a trip to Hai Phong, Cat Ba and Ha Long this year...so stay tune my trip in this thread after I visited...&&

TP Hai Phong is Vietnam 3rd largest city after HCM and Hanoi...:)

Hai Phong operated the northern port for Vietnam...:)

Do Son (beach) — about 20-23 km away from Hai Phong. Do Son is resort frequented by the Vietnamese but by few westerners; the beaches are not the greatest as silt affects the quality of the water. A visit to nearby Cat Ba is advisable if you want to swim, as the water quality is much better. Do Son sits along the ocean coast, and is filled with low-end hotels, restaurants, and karaoke bars. It has a reputation as a centre for prostitution. There is a casino (one of very few in Vietnam) at the Do Son Resort Hotel. It's worth visiting for a peaceful day or two away from the bustle of Haiphong

The Do Son hotel may not be gal-friendly...:)

Hai Phong has red light district and 1 of the cheapest sex in Vietnam...:)

Watermelons? Or papayas?

Anyway it's good to know new places for fun seekers. I heard some local friends mention that places like Haiphong and their nearby towns are swamped by Chinese businessmen. It is also a hotbed for drugs & prostitution so do play safe. :(
