Differences in Broadbands & VPN

Hello guys,

Well after been on the internet for quite long. I personally have 2 type of broadband - Singtel and Starhub :) . When I surf sites, I realise that most of the site is block by singtel but starhub is still able to access.

So for my opinion, I sure choose starhub :D. Cos all the rare videos are blocked by singtel. I not sure about (ViewQuest, MyRepublic, M1). Dunno what is this > (Zone Broadband)

VPN wise I am using only Cyberghost VPN (http://www.cyberghostvpn.com/en_us). It's not bad (Free). Need wait for queue but quite fast maybe 5 mins. Abit lag only.

BTW downloading of videos, I think Realplayer downloader still the best although sometime it take time for it to notice the video.

So anyone else have any good VPN to share or share their thoughts??

I've seen something similar to this in another thread. The ts shares of another method where you can set your networking settings and set your own dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.2.2. I've tried it myself and it works! Much better than cyber ghost coz the speed is much faster. And cyber ghost on free version will ping you out after 3 hours

I am currently using PIA but subscription ending end of the month. Thinking of changing to PureVPN.

Re: Differences in Broadbands & VPN

I use 2 VPN services, One company's one which is the same as here (IPvanish)

And another one pure... cause of split tunneling.

I run the browser that I surf here (firefox) and torrent through the VPN but everything else with no VPN. I saw this website detailing how to set their split tunnel.

How's PIA bro?
I have used pure VPN before and the speed was rather decent.
However they did not have sufficient country/server coverage at that time so I didn't renew but went for HMA instead.

This is just public DNS provided by Google. It's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
This is google so can trust but be wary of unknown provider of DNS, they can go through ur net traffic and skim off ur passwords, cc number etc.

Daytime, a lot of ping request time out, some servers speed are good and PIA is dirt cheap for 5 devices. How is HMA in term of speed?

HMA is very good in terms of servers and speed.
Just that it's slightly on the higher price side so I always look out for their promotions like 50% or even 70% off!
Renewal time is coming soon so gotta do the homework right ;)

I am using PIA.

I think different people need vpn for different purposes, therefore you should choose the service that suits your usage.

I choose PIA because they do not keep any log of your internet activities, which gives extra peace of mind. That's if privacy and security is your primary concern. This is especially true if u download stuffs/use torrents from internet.

There are other vpn thats cheaper and maybe faster, but most keep logs which i dont like.

But one thing is for sure. Do not use free vpn services. Its better to have no vpn than to use a free vpn.
Think of this. A company has to earn money from somewhere. If they dont earn it from you, they will earn it from elsewhere. For example, selling your internet identity and stuffs to 3rd parties like hackers, or even government.

Just my 2 cents.
