Another BIG FLOOD coming to Hatyai soon ???

Report from Bangkok Post dated 31 January 2012 :-

South warned of heavy rain

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation on Tuesday issued a warning for people in the eight southern coastal provinces of heavy rain, strong winds and high waves.

Department chief Wiboon Sanguanpong said the eight provinces are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Satun and Narathiwat.

A moderate high pressure system from China still prevails over northern Thailand and the South China Sea, causing heavy rain, strong winds and waves.

People in the eight provinces have been warned of potential flooding and landslide.

Mr Wiboon said the department has prepared personnel and equipment to help people in risk areas.

Flood-affected people can contact the department's 1784 hotline for immediate assistance around the clock, he said.

Re: Hatyai,Thailand For Sawadee Newbies

Hi everyone

I'm thinking of visiting Hatyai & found a cheap hotel near Hansa. The rate is 500, 1000 & 2000baht. From the pictures it looks like a nice hotel

http://hansaentertainment.com/#!/ser...an-hotel/about

However I don't see it being offered by online booking places like Agoda, and I've never seen anyone discussing this hotel Venetian:confused:

I know that it's a bit far from downtown i.e. Lee Garden Plaza & Novotel which I've stayed in the past, but it's cheap:) Has anyone stayed at this hotel:confused: What's been your experience:confused:

Re: Hatyai,Thailand For Sawadee Newbies

I just came back from Hatyai today, was very lucky to meet 1 old bird on the bus and got a very good deal on getting a hotel. We went to Hatyai Palace, cos that bro told me he got the room for special rate cos he goes there every month,so i thought maybe i can follow him to see how is the room althought i already had in mind i want to try may flower cos bro here recommended to me.
When we reach the hotel, the reception lady told us that there is newly renovated room and old room, that bro of mine(lets call him ming) only want to spend around 500 baht,so he told the non renovated one, as i found that the old room had some wierd smell,so i decided to take a look at the new one.
When i reach the new room, i like it straight away, but i just act cool cos i want to know what is the price like. Ming told me cos he is regular there, so he always got the offer price and dun need to get the voucher from the agency. The reception lady told us because it is new so the price will be 850 baht, i found it reasonable cos we went to agency to ask the price for mayflower, it was 1050 baht all around, then out of curiosity i ask her will it be cheaper if i gonna get voucher from agency? she said she dunno, but she is like giving us a hint,so we went to agency to ask.
We went to 707 agency and to my surprise ,because the room is new and price is not fix yet,so we still enjoy the old price @ 750 baht. With a room with everything new, even the big LCD TV(plastic still on) and dvd player, and best of all FREE WIFI,you can even smell the new smell when you enter the room, without delay,i bought the voucher immediately.
I really enjoy my stay over there, even my girl came to the room, she told me it is better than mayflower, For me I think is a Freaking good deal, as for any bro who are going there i think it worth it to give it a stay, really thank you for ming who recommend this place to me and i hope any bro who read this and try it will enjoy the same like me Cheers!!!!!
