Sukura grand view is well liked by most sporean. Last time the rate is about 900++ baht. But now i thk increase already. The location is so so only cos u have to walk about 10-15mins to get to Lee Garden where it is more centralize. Sukura is very old now but i think still maintain quite ok. Mayflower or Golden Crown Plaza (imoh - GCP better). GCP now about 920-950baht (exclude peak season). Even Sakura also went up. GCP only 3-5mins walk to Lee Garden shopping centre or rather central. (definately a better choice unless u dun mind always pay tutu 20baht per person to travel there).

Reference from google map

Walking direction from Sakura Grand View Hotel to Lee Garden Hotel : From Nipat Uthit 3 Road head north to Thanon Niyomrat > head west on Thanon Niyomrat toward Nipatuthit 2 > turn left onto Nipatuthit 2 > turn right onto Thanon Leepatana. Estimate distance is 230m and time is 3 mins.

Walking direction from Sakura Grand View Hotel to Lee Garden Plaza Hotel : From Nipat Uthit 3 Road head north to Thanon Niyomrat > head east on Thanon Niyomrat > turn left onto Thanon Saneha Nusorn > head north on Thanon Saneha Nusorn. Estimate distance is 600m and time is 8 mins.

Of course Sakura Hotel is older than Sakura Grand View Hotel, which is opposite each other by crossing the road.

Have fun

I guarantee chop + whatever nonsense that Sakura be it new or old (just opp each other), no way 3mins walk to Lee Garden unless u slow jog there. I mean if u casual walk, take avg 10mins or lagi more whereas Golden Crown Plaza is a better choice cos it takes u less than 2-5mins and u can also walk to the 'Market' where their local also went there for clothing, bags. shoes, wallets, tu chang, etc. but i realise their local kena chop more than me. But if u want wifi, GCP is not a good choice cos sometimes quite lag. I have been walking up and down from Lee garden to Sakura (new) for their foot masssage (i Wont say its great but just a way for me to relax). nhp 69, go for GCP (of cos not in CNY period). Trust me. I had drove from sg to HY more than 10times and take plane more than 10 times also.

If u talk about find gals, 1.8K to 2k u should b able to get a ok 1 if u go and visit the farm urslf. But if u take tutu, they will charge u ard 2.5K. But if u stay at GCP and ask the bell boy to bring the gals up to ur room for u to see, prices also ard 2.3 to 2.5K depending on how much commission they 1 2 earn.

If u really want to go, pm me for their places of interest and avg prices (tutu or whatever transport they will try to kutoh u).

(Fyi- I went to see Four season hotel, Mayflower hotel and Sakura 'new; hotel rooms, in terms of price and room atmosphere, imohp, definitely Golden Crown Plaza wins all. But in terms of wifi, TV programs, GCP so so only or not so good. The rest of the hotel im not sure but base on other brother FR, I think bette than GCP)

Is there anyone in hatyai now? I would like to find out whether is it true that the hotels are full ?

I went to the travel agency this morning to book bus ticket to hatyai and intended to look for accomodation on arrival there. The staff told me no rooms are available for walk in travellers. He advised me to take a package from his agency to ensure that I have somewhere to stay while in hatyai.

I ended up taking a 9D8N package (S$660.00) but the accomodation is broken into stays in 3 different hotels due to full occupancy. My itinery and breakdown of the costs :-

Bus ticket 2-way = $68 x 2 = $136.00
Travel insurance = $8.00
2 night's stay at Lee Garden Plaza = $177.00
2 night's stay at Diamond Plaza = $172.00
2 night's stay at Grand Plaza = $167.00
Total = S$660.00

I leave on 22nd evening and return to Singapore on morning of 30th.

Did I pay too much or was it a fair price?

Dude, are you talking about 22-Jan to 30-Jan? For popular hotels, of course they are very full during that period, even if you manage to get it from the local tour agents, be prepare to pay high surcharge for those hotel room.

Which is the coach company are you referring to?

During normal rate
Grassland : SIN-HDY = S$48-S$50, HDY-SIN = 750 baht
Sri Maju : SIN-HDY = S$40
Konsortium : SIN-HDY = S$38
Lee Garden Plaza Hotel = Per night 1050 baht with breakfast for 2

Since you had made the payment, there would not be a chance to refund or bargain right?
Why are you asking and worry about the price you had paid?
Just pack your belonging and enjoy your trip there, isn't it a better idea?
Well just be prepare for your hefty expense that you are going to spend there as most prices likely to be jack up, unless you are going with your partner or become monk over there? ;)

Have fun

The 3 hotels that u stay, mayb Lee garden can make it but i still feel the room is old. If i remember correctly, Diamond plaza and of cos Grand Plaza is dam old already. Duno exist for how many donkey years liao. Location wise, Lee garden and Grand plaza is good, just beside each other only. The prices u pay for ur hotel cfm expensive but peak period wor. The room rate is less than S$30 to $40+ per night during off peak.

I donch know the coach company as I bought the tour package from STT in Pearl's Centre but I believe it is a Malaysian company as both the drivers were Indians who could speak malay & chinese.

Arrived this morning about 10.30 am and that was a damn tiring 14 hour ride. Luckily I met an elderly man on the same coach who has been travelling up to Hatyai every year during the CNY holidays as he has no relatives in Singapore. Met him for lunch after checking in to Lee Garden Plaza and was brought around town by him for show and tell. :)

Visited some farms but gals were so so only and very few. Was advised by the old man not to take anyone as not worth the 3800 baht price (okt initially asked for 4500 baht and reduced to 3.8K when we baulk at the price).

Old man brought me for traditionally Thai massage at a joint nearby the farms, very good and relaxing but no happy ending. Came back for a nap and will be meeting old man again for dinner and more show and tell. :p

That'll be all for now as I shouldn't keep the old man waiting, hopefully will be able to have some action tonight.

You should listen to the expert of Hatyai about the price that mention to you, then you would know how much is the real price...

Have fun

No worries, just quoting the reference from expert of Hatyai to gauge their deal with or without inflation. ;)

Pardon me as I'm cheap charlie style, I didn't take tuk-tuk to KTV or engage bell boy service, therefore I wouldn't know how much is their commission, usually I prefer to walk to the shop for viewing.
Well if the increased extra baht goes to the gal whom serve you, may not be that bad idea as its festive season... However probably the gal share remain the same, those addition cost belong to the owners and middle persons... :(

Have fun
