IMHO, don't need many days to explore Hatyai and Danok. 2-3 days for Hatyai and 1 day for Danok is enough. If you have long break, you can go up north. But of cos if you don't like moving or travelling too much or you like the slow easygoing pace in Hatyai/ Danok, then you may prefer staying longer.:D
