Eating wise, BKK offers alot more things

Nothing much to eat in hatyai.. the occational roast meat rice, desert shops, orh jian, thats about it.. mostly expensive compared to Malaysia standards. Go there eat macdonalds and kfc and sizzlers:(

If you stick to the touristy areas of course you cannot find good local food, be more adventurous and go to the places that the locals patronise.

Do you know there are hawker centres in hatyai ? and I am not referring to the food courts in the shopping malls but real authentic hawker centres that has been around more than 20 over years liao. :)

Some of these places even the farm WLs do not know so you need a hatyai native gal to show you these places.

I think you gonna have a long wait........ was at GMC and was told by the ticketing agent prices likely to go up somemore until after Lunar New Year then the prices will come down in Feb 2012.

U must either picky or just plain ignorant to think that a city of Hatyai only has what u have mentioned above for food choices !!

There are plenty of awesome eats that u cant find in MaLaysia or Sin. Just the rice quality there is much better than wat we get at home. Not to mention their fruits !! Just cause u always go to the tourist area and eat around there,does not mean there arent nice eateries !! Next time go explore or ask ur thai girl to bring you around Thais only joints all around this city.

The main tourist area only accounts up to 1/20 of Actual Hatyai area so go figure !!

well, i went hatyai, got lot of things to eat...like the dim sum stall which is down the street from new season hotel that i stayed.

Or walk down to novotel hotel there, at night after i went sugar beat with my thai puying and my friend, we still can eat wan ton mee and pork porridge. My puying also eat the lian zi soup.

Disagreed with your second part.

Don't think you know Hatyai well, enough. Looks like, I can eat what you eat, but you cannot eat what I eat. So your choice is limited.

If you were to eat roast meat, orh jian, desserts, Mac, KFC, Sizzlers, back home sure taste better, and will be more expensive.
