I think so. Apart from parents and children, it is a take in give relationship.

Oh well, balance in everything I guess. I also learned the more you give love, the more the other party will not appreciate.

Yeah very true.

I watched a psychology video before that shared in healthy relationships, both parties give and take close to equal such that no one is keeping score, in the sense 'transactions' take place but it all balances out nicely.

And so the 'giving' part works, because when one gives, the other gives also.

Only when one party is entitled and takes too much, then the giver will start to feel resentment.
