Just back from Manila last week, a little info to share on taxi ripping off. In order to avoid this, use Uber or Grabtaxi. In this way, they will have no chance or don't dare to rip you off because all the personal details of the driver is recorded. If you happen to leave things behind in the cab, at least it's still traceable :)

i think the problem with Grabtaxi in Manila is the taxi drivers r really not that well off...vis a vis say Spore taxi drivers....


most of them have phones but not smartphones......so the pool of Grabtaxi drivers in Manila will prob b v v v small........

Re Grab taxi in manila I think they have a big pool of drivers but with traffic the fellow was still one hour away from Salcedo to Avenue Mall .. a distance normally travelled in 10 to 15 minutes

traffic still so bad ha...back in 1999, a car ride of 10 mins turn into 1 hr jam...the jam was for no reason because not peak hours...traffic jam was a turn off for me...:)
