u say u got in from the terminal on arrival.

it would help if you could say which terminal and did u use the airport taxis ?

as far as i know, if u use airport taxis, not only no scam, all use meters or if u use the flat fee queue, u r quoted flat fee upfront.

the attendants there all write down the taxi numbers on a slip of paper in case u want to complain later on.



now , if you urself didnt use the airport taxis on arrival and wandered off somewhere else, i would say u own self looking for issues.

From terminal 1 departure. we checked in but decided to wander off to have some fun before flight. so we boarded from terminal 1 dropoff point. ya, ownself to blame..

we might not be using a airport taxis, its my first trip.. taxis is white so we tot same as others.. well the scam taxi came with meter, its only for awhile later.. we realised the meter was ticking/adding every sec.. den we realise the fake.

well i would say u are correct, should always board the taxis at arrivals.. safer .

the point is.. look out for "co-driver"/un-identify friends of drive who got up after a short drive..

if u take the airport taxis on arrival :-

terminal 1 - meter
terminal 2 - flat fee
terminal 3 - 2 queues , flat fee and meter
terminal 4 - meter

terminal 1 to 3 arrival is different levels to departure, no way u can make mistake if u stay on departure level and look for taxis sign

terminal 4 is the only terminal where departure n arrival same level but still the airport taxi queue line is quite clear, the departure drop offs r somewhere near the gate at terminal 4.

regarding people jumping in, easy solution, tell the taxi driver to lock all doors when he on the meter. actually locking all doors is good practice anywhere u take a taxi in manila.

Amazing, u took a taxi from the arrival level and got scammed. the taxi was waiting for someone in your situation? I'm under the impression taxi are not allowed to wait at arrival area.

the following is my recent manila fr

first night went to g-point. had a big taco, played pool, invited a girl I met on DIA to join. She came by with a friend, which can either be good or bad. this time it was bad. I end up with one of the girls that frequent there. ST for 1500. stayed at palm.

second night went to mangetsu with friend. very good. afterwards we went to Draft in GB3 for drinks. After drinks, met up with another gal I met on FB. So hot, so friendly, but she had a bf. Field report:

Once I arrived Manila, I searched for locker and locked my belongings up.

As suggested by RodRideOut and etsys, I went to AirForceOne straight. The stupid thing is, while you were queueing up for the taxi, the attendants will ask you where you are going while he was filling up the paper. How could I tell him that I was going to AirForceOne with many people in front and behind me.
So I just told him that I am going to a KTV in Paranaque (Paranya-kue) City.

Anyway, arriving there around 3.00pm (Flight 168, below AirForceOne). Went to see the showroom. Picked number 142 (I can't remember her name). Chose the 2K room (Biz class). The room was meant to be for 1 hr and 45 mins.

Went straight to the room, the girl came in and she took off her cloth before shower. She told me that there was massage going and if I want to fuck her, I need to pay 2K extra (As per the room rate).

Her body is standard. Not too much special. Medium size boobs. The nipple was tucked in (Inverted nipples). A turn off.

So after shower, did some massage straight. For around 15 mins perhaps. Then massage my little soldier a little while before she asked me to turn around. When I arrived at the mall, what a surprise to see Dwayne Howard was at the center stage showing off how tall he is compared to the rest of Asian man in the mall. The tallest Asian man is still lower than his shoulder.

Stayed there at Starbucks until it was time for me to leave to the airport at 6.40. Another taxi problem. Asking for 300 PHP to the airport. I asked for 200. He said traffic jam, bla bla bla. I said no. So he asked me to get out of taxi. And I got on another taxi that can bring me to airport at 200 PHP. But all the while, he keep complaining about traffic. He also turned on meter. I guess if the meter is more expensive, he will want me to pay the meter fare (quite fair). Ended up the meter is only about 100 PHP. but I paid him 200 PHP anyway.

Arrived airport at around 7.00, a tat early for my 9pm flight.
So that's my little adventure at Manila. For your information, I am an Asian, that look a bit like Malaysian, Pinoy, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, or Chinese. So I guess there is a little advantage with the taxi. Speaking a bit of their dialect / accent will help too.

u dont need to say KTV, just Paranaque City will do. ie dont have to say Burgos Street Bars , just Burgos Street or even Makati, no need KTV in Roxas or Baclaran, just Baclaran or Malate or Roxas Boulevard will do.

u don't have to care about what you say. no one cares. in fact, it's expected.

if u r solo, most drivers will start pimping or making recommendations once they figure out your sexual orientation. almost every driver I have ever met in manila is a tout and has a business card.

and every driver will complain about traffic, even though you'd think they would be used to traffic conditions after all the driving they do.

+1 .. if you want to go to Makati, tell the Counter, Around P Burgos in Makati, if you are shy of telling P Burgos Bars ..

after all, the taxi driver will still not have change and you will end up loosing some change ;) think of it as tips ..

and when drivers complain of traffic, don't chime in as excuse to ask for more fare .. tell them nicely, if metered " METER ON FIRST" and shut the talk .. don't tell "TIP' etc. and the driver will start negotiating as if you are the only passenger for him for the whole month and his family will die of hunger if you dont' tip ..

Again, rule .. don't chit chat too much or make promsies ..

pinoys, here and in PH, will take offers as confirmed deals and you can't argue with somebody dead set on not listening .. like you say "take me to mega mall in 30 minutes and I will pay 100 peso .. " means - even if the driver takes the longest route, gets stuck in traffic for 3 hours, he is STILL ENTITLED to the 100 peso you promised ..

like another place, in a bar, there was a whiny customer, and in jest I said "if the bastard is fighting for the 30 peso, let me pay .. " the waitress comes over to me and says "I told that customer you will pay, can you pay his bill please? "

Be firm and don't hesitate to step out of the taxi, worst case, tell him you want to pee and ask him to fuck off at the petrol station .. or get off at Jollibee or nearest mall.

I also had one case, where I got a cab to go to Mega Mall, found the taxi is stuck in the traffic for an hour, and when crawling by Harrisons Mall, I told the driver "meter is 100, here keep 150, and bye .. "

Guess what ? 1 hour later I come out and the driver is waiting to take me to Megal Mall .. you think I took on his offer ? i know better .. his meter would have included 'waiting fee' .. I told him "no, waiting for a friend" and jumped into another passing taxi .. that's survival 101 ..

And likewise .. if somebody opens a taxi door for you, smile and close the taxi door and take another one .. 9 out of 10 times, the one who opens will ask "BOOKING FEE" .. most common ruse around MBC/Bars etc ..

Hotel located in Makati area
Any kind suggestions on any happening place near by...pubs, disco etc.

Normally I stay in Ortigas area.
