Is it just me or is it getting really hot again in Manila / Makati? Was cool and rainy about a week ago and now this week it's sweating time again... CNY mood is here too, can see them selling tikoy (i think this is "nian gao") at the various department stores.

Haven't tried any of the tourist spots that Darkknight hit - anything good to recommend?

I hear tagatay is nice, especially the resto there (Antonio's) but never had the time nor the right chick to go with .. yet. Boracay must fly there, so can be quite tiring.

Etsys - bro, pinays can be a handful, chicks can be quite demanding and get jealous quite easily but the upside is once they let you in, they treat you quite well, di ba?

While I made a trip to Manila early this week, landed in terminal 3, after the immigration clearance, all arrival guest should go thru the customs clearance. Usually people would just hand over the declaration form to the officer and proceed on. This time I noticed there was a long queue served by two officers...
After the snail queue, finally it was my turn ->

Officer : "Is this your first time to come Philippines?"
Cupnoodle : "Nope."
Officer : "What is your purpose to come Philippines?"
Cupnoodle : "For vacation"
Officer : "Where will you stay in Philippines?"
Cupnoodle : "XXX hotel"
Officer : "Do you carry more than 10,000 peso or 10,000 USD with you now?"
Cupnoodle : "Nope"
Officer : "In your luggage, is there any valuable gift to be given to someone here in Philippines?"
Cupnoodle : "Nope"...

Phew... if the officer would have ask to check my luggage, I guess the people at the queue would be going to curse and swear... :cool:

The main reason I been skipping SQ and 3K is that they end up in T1, which is where all forms of scam happen, and the airport layout is so nice that the customs fellows can pull you out of sight and can hold you for a while, while negotiating

T2 / T3 such don't happen because if they hold one pax, the rest will start to throw tantrum and the layout makes it tough to ask for bribes ..

Years back on one of my trips i was asked abt the php 10,000?

Like an idiot i said i had more.

D guy said he wld need to confiscate all my monies if i din hv approval from the central bank...

I said if he confiscated my money how wld i pay for the hotel, stay n other expenses.

He held me for a short while abt 5 min... Scheming how he cld relieve me off my money...

I then added i hv no bank cards, credit or debit cards...

Thts all i had.... If he took it i had nothing with me...

I took a chance...

He let me go...

The Philippines is hot... Yes real fuckin hot....

The coolest months r usually oct thru jan.. With dec being the coldest month usually... Rarely drops below 20 degrees unless you are in Baguio or tagaytay or such other places where temperatures r lower...

D worst months r march thru june till the first rains...

I was in a province in may n it was so fuckin hot.... They had a rickety old electric fan which was directly blowing at me and i was still sweating

Then usually typhoons n other calamities keep d temperature down....

Dude regarding the chix... Depends which chix.... If non BG yes they r very jealous...

The BGs r jealous only coz they see losing you as losing income....

Otherwise they really dun care

One more aspect bet BGs n non BGs....

If you get into trouble n the non bg is ur real gf she will try her best to help u get out of the situation...

Or even if u need to pay most likely at least cost to u...

However the non BGs believe in the Filipino Brotherhood concept...

Which is " not just i milk you... Not just i make money out of you but if you are getting scammed or cheated.... Usually they wont interfere.... They feel someone else is milking you... Let it happen.... Someone else is scamming u... Let it happen..."

I always bring more than 10k going in and have never been asked
but i have been ask going out and he wanted to count it
i insisted its less than 10k (loudly) so he let me passed

future trips better bring less and 10k and bring FC eg S$
